That guy does make a good point though. If the boy had been electrocuted while unplugging a lamp, the headline probably wouldn't read "Boy Killed by Lamp!" Perhaps something along the lines of "Faulty Wiring Causes Boys Death" would have been more appropriate. Part of me wants to say just give the family some privacy so they can mourn their loss. Maybe this attention though will get them to fix their wiring so it doesn't happen again.... maybe.

Either way, I'm not really surprised by the headlines. Journalists get paid to grab the attention of the readers, so they do what sells.

I can't even imagine how hard it would be to lose a son. I say a little prayer everytime I think about this.

First and foremost I agree that the focus here should the lost of a child, it is unthinkable. A true tragedy.

I personally have a rather large problem with the sensationalism that is called the news today. This surely should not be sensationalized or used to grab headlines or as a weapon by those that oppose gaming. It will be though. The fact that the child was alone in a hotel room in a foreign country will be ignored and the fact that Thailand is an unstable country will not be likely to come into play. Yes I do believe that the news, where this story is reported will most likely be the fact that it was a GB that he was unplugging. Of course faulty wiring is culprit -- but that does not get the readers attention. These days the news is a very competitive busy
business. It is more about sensationalism that it is facts. No one takes the time to check as well as they should -- it is all a bout getting the story on the air first. Well -- I will stop for now -- it is probably more irritating to me than it should be.

Good morning Carol, how nice it is to see you here at Lilbro. I know you and Candy from Jonah's site. I am a regular member and poster there. We have been talking in the topic about dogs and training. I was so touched by your story of how you rescued Candy. I am surely happy she is with you now.

Jonah emailed me about his and the families visit. I know you must miss them all, I only know your grandchildren though email/pictures and such but they seem just wonderful I do imagine the house is quiet without them.

Welcome to Lilbro and I hope you will continue to post.
