JJ it 58 degrees outside -- I have been out riding my 4 wheeler ( quad to some ) and it is just awesome.
Very low humidity. It is safe to go outside again ! Well for a little bit anyway LoL
OK if you did not know about the fires I will not worry. I did think of you immediately though.
I would not call your goals simple, it will require much hard work, skills and knowledge but I think you
are very capable of attaining them and it seems to me to fit with your desires for years now and work well
with the skills you possess. I know you well enough to know that you will put in the hard work.
JJ I believe that you will write a book one day good enough to publish and I believe you will use the talent
the Lord has given you for his glory. Now that is all I could ever want in a Granddaughter. You are a very special young lady.
Oogy I expect outstanding things from you as well, I am honored to know both of you.

Sorry it's taken me a bit to reply. I keep meaning to, but I kept getting distracted with other things.
I want to live in Oklahoma... They have much better weather. Or in Canada!! It was snowing all the way into April!! Well.. maybe not Canada. I think that much snow might get depressing after a while. But still it's better than all the heat. I used to say I wanted to live in Seattle. But I think that much rain might be really depressing, and get annoying after a while, lol.
I didn't mean simple as in easy, I meant simple as in... not extravagant. They're not "reaching for the stars". They're down to earth, reasonable. You know? It's gonna be a lot of work. And I'm actually going to have to get over my fear of public speaking... Ironic huh? I hate speaking in front of people, yet I want to be teacher. When I was younger I wanted to be an FBI agent, lol. :) Such a tomboy, am I. Haha! part of me still wants something exciting like that, something with guns, and spying and secret operations. Haha. I watch/read to much secret agent type stuff. At one point I wanted to be a Crime Scene Investigator, specifically a weapons specialist. Then I realized they use science, which happens to be my worst subject, and the one I hate the most. Especially chemistry. That idea died fast. When I was really little my parents were always trying to show off my singing talent. To this day they still want be to pursue a career in singing. Or nursing. That's my mother's idea. Singing or nursing. With my dad it's actually whatever I want to do, but secretly singing. Lol. My dad is the one who encourages me more with "you can do anything". My mom's a little more realistic. And even though teaching is a "realistic" career, she still subtly suggests that I should do something else. Anytime I mention an interest in something(law, research, medicine, etc) she jumps at it. "Well maybe you should try that instead of teaching." ... Apparently she doesn't like the idea of me being a teacher. Oh well.
I really hope I can publish my stories. I've been told I have a lot of talent when it comes to writing, and that I have a way with words. I just want to make something interesting, you know?

That is outstanding news -- and of course your laptop has and SD slot LoL -- I can hardly wait to see the
pictures and I love my laptop too !
This a a very rare summer for Oklahoma -- it is usually quite hot now -- so we are just very fortunate this year.
When does it start to cool off in your part of California. We are still getting pretty warm in the afternoons but having very very cool mornings --58 or so and cool evenings. For late August it is amazing.
No question you have a way with words and I have always enjoyed your stories, if you really want it I believe you can publish a book.
I think your plans are perfect JJ, just because singing is not your profession does not mean you won't use it all of your life for the good. I think you will enjoy it more if if is not your "work".
I will be looking for those pictures JJ.

Yeah, I definitely agree about the singing. I'd enjoy much more and continue to always enjoy it if it was not my profession.
Thank you for believing in me :) It always feels good to know that.
Oh it's the same in California. August is probably the hottest month. July gets pretty hot but towards the middle of august it's the worst. And this year ain't no different. Haha :) In fact Mrs. Taylor( who I will forthwith call Lisana, as she wants me too I guess) and I were talking about that today. How hot it's been. She has an exchange student from Germany staying with her for the school year, and she said how he was so uncomfortable and not used to the heat. :) It's way to hot.... :( If it's past 10:00 in the morning my car feels like a sauna. I can't ever forget my water in my car during class or I won't be able to drink it after. :( It stinks. But thankfully Autumn is on it's way :)
My friend Alicia, who used to be one of my closest friends, I'm sure you remember, is coming over for breakfast in the morning. We were chatting the other day, and she had a pic of her and her brother on Facebook, and I said I didn't even recognize him at first. And we talked about how we hadn't seen eachother in so long, and I hadn't seen her family or anyone, and it was sad :( So we decided to get together and catch up a bit. So I told her I'd make her breakfast if she wanted to come over :) YAY! I'm worried that it's gonna be a little awkward though. We haven't "hung out" in forever. And we friends, but we're not really close anymore. I don't know. We'll see :)
I will send you some pics now. I don't think I'll send you all the pics. There's A LOT!. But I'll definitely send you some good ones :) And some good ones of the buildings. Definitely of the cathedrals. OOH! And the waterfall. I'm gonna send you the vid!
Lol, I've never had a laptop before now, haha! I didn't know what they were fully capable of. My dad has this really old one, but it doesn't have the SD card thing.

I got the pictures JJ, I loved seeing them and I look forward to the next batch ! Thank you.
It is nice you got to see your friend but it is always interesting to me it is surprising how much things change.
How is school going, are you settling in, do any of your high school friends attend classes with you ?

Sorry it took me a couple days to reply. I had a rough weekend.
Yeah, Alicia and I had a nice visit. It wasn't awkward at all, but just like nothing had ever changed. We just chatted like always :) We had a good time :)
Unfortunately, I have no previous schoolmates in any of my classes. But I'm sure at some point in my years at college I'll have some classes with them. :) I have seen a couple of friends around campus.
My classes have been going good. Not a lot or work, thankfully. Which gives me more time to work with drama, and, of course, email. :) I've been trying to catch up on some reading, too :) My classes are at a really nice time too, they're not randomly in the middle of the day or anything, they're in the morning. And then my English class is only every third Thursday at night. So my schedule is really nice, and easy. :) The class I have most of my work in is probably Art. And English too. But all of English work is online. So that's not bad. :)

That does sound good JJ.
We all get busy or have things come up. I do understand that. I hope your rough weekend was just
busy.
I thought of you this morning -- it was so cool here you actually needed a light jacket -- We just could not believe it. August in Oklahoma -- the end of August -- it was cool/chilly. I absolutely loved it and it is
that cool out there again now. We did not even turn the AC on today and it is so nice to have the house open and get to enjoy the cool fresh air. It is supposed to warm back up to about 85 with some rain later in the week but it was in the 70 tys all day today. It just makes you feel good. I hope September continues on like this.
Have you started working with your old drama teacher yet ? I look forward to hearing about that.
What sort of projects do you expect for your art class.
A sign of the times I guess but how does your online class work -- I have never experienced any thing like that.
How big is your school. It is so different to hear you talk about around campus ! It is still hard for me to believe that you are actually in college.
What are you reading -- Pellinor books I hope.
JJ I have stayed with Brisinger and I have gotten quite interested in it and I am now just a bit over
half way in it. I was surprised because I did not like the first part much but now I am eager to read
it. If you should decide to read it there are a couple of things that would be interesting to talk about.
I still like the style of Eragon better but I like this one better than Inheritance .
I am still playing my video games and I have gotten a DSi -- I have a game I want to play a little
before bed but we will talk soon.
Goodnight JJ.

Actually it's not so hot today, I think. It was horrible yesterday and Sunday though. Good grief, that heat was like the dead heat where you feel all sluggish and you just don't want to do anything. Awful!
It was surprisingly cool this morning though, and very windy. I'm actually wearing pants today, and I was getting hot out. I think it's finally cooling down. But then again I haven't been outside in two hours. It could be getting really hot, what with my luck. :
Yes, Lisana is my drama teacher, the one I mentioned earlier talking about the heat :) We had auditions for the play two weeks ago this Thursday. Last week we read through the play then started blocking which we will be doing for a while. :) But it's fun :) Blocking is a chance to think of new ideas and fun little jokes to do. It's also a good for an actor to establish the personality in his character, figure out why he would walk where he's walking, or do what he's doing, discover the motives behind his actions. :) It's very interesting :)
There are several online or hybrid classes(half online, half on campus) now-a-days. There are many people who merely do all of their education online, degrees and all. But I'd rather do face to face. :) But the only English class I can get into was the Hybrid one. And it's not bad. I like it :) See the college, MSJC, has it's own site the use called blackboard, and on that site each teacher has it's own section for each class. We have all over our assignments, lectures, communication, information etc. on that site. And we use the discussion boards to do several of our assignments as groups. One of our first assignments was each person in a group was assigned one of five essays. We had to read, and then think of six different analytical questions about the essay. And the group has to answers eachothers questions, and after everyone's answered theirs, they answer their own. And it's all on that specific course section, on the Blackboard site. :) It's very similar to Lilbro, actually. There's different Topics/Threads that the teacher puts up, and then reply/post on those threads. The setup is slightly different, but it's the same idea. :) Not all teachers actually use the website. My art teacher hates it. Lol. But my history teachers uses the discussion boards to asks questions, and we have to answer his questions as participation assignments.
My school is pretty big, but not huge. It's a lot bigger than Calvary, though. A LOT! But it's an easy campus to get around, simple layout, and parking. :) I like it :)
Of course I'm reading the Riddle! :) On the side I am also re-reading To Kill A Mockingbird. When I have free-time at home, I read the Riddle. When I'm out somewhere and I some free moments I'll read a couple pages of TKAM.
Hmm, I'm glad that the book gets better. I will finish sometime then :) My friend still has it. I'll have to ask her about it :)
I use A LOT of smileys... Haha.

Thank you for explaining that JJ. I think I would like that very much. Of course nothing like that was
available when I was in school. Are you enjoying studying that way ?
Sounds like your weather has improved greatly -- isn't it nice to be heading into fall ? It always seems to make me feel better mentally and physically when it is cool.
I think Brisinger has some unexpected developments. At least unexpected by me. I have gotten in to a
slightly boring part at the moment but I do not think it is going to last very long. If I settle down and read
much I will be finished with it soon. Lately my reading has been more reading while waiting in the truck
or just 15 minutes here and there. I seem to be a little restless to sit and read for a long time like I have
been known to do. Maybe it is the book -- it goes from being really good to a part like I am in now.
I like smileys -- I still have all of the smileys you sent me in a folder titled JJ -- I use them a lot.
The Riddle is good don't you think. The Crow is my least favorite but it is good.
Have you had a good Labor day weekend. I have not been feeling well so ours was pretty quiet.
I look forward to talking to you.
Goodnight JJ. I think I will read for a little bit.
