All of the festivities took place here -- it actually didn't rain until lat in the night -- last evening it poured down --
( the fifth ) it is so muggy outside it is unbelievable -- I just came in and I have a new found appreciation for AC.
Having heard about the weather out west I fell rather blessed however. 127 degrees in Las Vegas and 120 in California and Arizona -- that is just unthinkable. I will happily endure my 88 to 89 degrees with high humidity and daily rain and be thankful.

We did have an excellent fourth as well. Cook outs with friends are always great. Judy and Eddie regularly host the annual 4th get together -- the kids enjoy the pool and I stay close enough to get splashed -- it keeps things a little cooler. The only bad thing is that the dogs were very disturbed this year -- the neighbors across the way apparently had fireworks for their family our in the huge pasture across from us ( their land of course )
and it was very loud and something that the pups had not heard before -- usually the dry conditions would keep anyone from using fireworks there. Even Wy was a little edgy -- me too actually -- they were too close to suit me and poor Josh kept bravely running down the road to protect us. They did celebrate quite late but they never complain about our dogs and they are very nice and so we just stayed up and kept the dogs company.
We do worry about a stray firework getting somewhere it shouldn't !

It was a great day ! I am glad to hear that yours was as well Logan.

My parents were workingon the Fourth of July, so my sister and I went out to dinner together and went shopping. We had fun. I've never actually had dinner with my sister in a real restaurant before. We go to fast food sometimes, but never a restaurant where you sit down and wait for your food. We had a good time. Then we went to target and my sister did a little bit of shopping. She had bought a new wallet, so she wanted to get a purse to match. I'll never understand that. Why does the wallet have to match the purse? Or with my mom it's shoes. The purse has to match the shoes. My purse(actually it's not really a purse, it's more like a book bag, but sort of purse... I don't know. I just don't like purses so I don't call it a purse) doesn't match anyhting. And the wallet certainly doesn't match with the purse either. So, yeah. I'm the queen of mismatched "purses". Haha.

But, yeah. We didn't even get to watch fireworks this year. There were none by our house.

That sounds quite nice for you and your sister to go out.

I have a big old denim purse -- nothing in it matches and I do not care -- it is far to much trouble to change purses all the time. I think I could give you some competition in the mis matched department : )

Haha, my shoes are always the same, and my wallet is always the same, so I guess I'm perpetually mis-matched.....

Good for us -- we are all very practical.

I know a person that spends ridiculous amounts of time making sure every single part of her clothing -- including purses and such match event to the shades of the colors -- I never understood it -- she changes purses ( and wallets and stuff ) with every single change of clothing. Time and money wasted -- that is expensive and where do they keep all that "stuff" ! :)

I think money can be used on more sensible things. Things that are useful.

My Algebra teacher last year was a huge fan of shoes. ONe day she was chatting with the class like she alwyas does, before we corrected homework, and she confessed to us that she owns nearly 80 pairs of shoes. She just completely blew my mind. I mean I can understand maybe 5 pairs of shoes, like me. But 80? I mean I have 5. But only tweo the I normall wear. A pair of shoes for choir, a pair of dress shoes, my gym shoes, my converse, and my flip flops. The flip flops are the only ones I wear regularly.

Another girl I knew used to have a purse for everyday day of the week. What's the point in that?

One pair of shoes and one wallet lol. I do need to get another pair of shoes soon though. This 3 year or so old, $20 pair of shoes isn't good enough now that I'm standing for 8+ hours most days.

There's a sensible guy. He gets a new pair of shoes because he needs them for work, and his are old and worn. I applaud you, Oogy!! Heheh.

The only reason I have my converse right now is because I need some shoes for walking for my trip to China, and they had to be something that looked halfway decent with halfway business dress. The organization we worked with like it's employees to at least look somewhat professional. So, it was a no go on flip flips, but I wasn't about to walk around in heels. My sister can do that, I can't. I have really lat feet and heels just kill.
