No, we didn't really have flooding in my area, though I know some houses struggled with it. Supposedly we've not had 15 straight days of rain (like we have just now) for the last 70 years or so. I'm not in a flood area, so I don't worry about it. I'm somewhat on a hill so part of my front yard (without grass) has somewhat deserted me.....

As we learned in Narnia....

Yes time off is fairly rare around here lately but we are trying slow down a bit. We have a lot to catch up on -- the weeds are out of control -- it has been too wet and slick to mow or use the brush hog.
We intend to take some time for fun things but HR's idea of time off is catching up around here -- he will have to work a little bit but not that much for the company. We are really looking forward to it and we are just relaxing today ! I am very good at it but HR needs practice :)

It is good to know that you had no problems with the rain -- we didn't either except the sort I am of thing I am

The new keyboard with a new shape is really nice but I am having to learn my way around with it. You know how slow I catch on to new "stuff!" I like the new mouse as well. The keyboard has a place to set 5 favorites -- I think I will try to figure that out next, now that I can almost type on this thing. I just discovered a button that says spell -- that could be interesting. Hmmm when I pushed it it ask if I wanted to turn on Caret Browsing -- well I said no to that ! Time to read some more of the tutorial.

Another rainy day -- last year at this time we had burn bans -- this is an unusual start for July. I hope that everyone has something fun planned for the 4th ! Surprise -- we have a rain forecast for here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is Picross?

I had to laugh when you said that HR needs practice relaxing, that does sound like him :)

My family's visit was cut short, but things are fine now, I'll e-mail about it, if you ask me I guess. I'm about to go to bed for tonight and might not remember. This weekend I went on a youth retreat with some folks from my church. And we played frisbee. And I'm a touch sore. :)

Picross is a DS game that Jonah really enjoys and he found a clone of a similar game and put it on the new WoN Arcade. I had been very curious about the game due to his interest and I was anxious to try it. Well it did not suit the way my works ( or doesn't work ! ) It is actually something you would be EXTREMELY good at.
I was glad to get to try it -- it is not a game for me. It would seem that Picross is a thinkers game. I do not think

The retreat does sound nice -- a good break for you indeed I imagine.

It is literally true -- HR is no good at relaxing -- he managed to do no more this morning before 7 a.m. than cook breakfast -- go down and check things at the building ( lots more rain yesterday and last night ) -- feed the critters and check things out in his office ( business email and stuff ) having gotten the paper on his outing he sat down with a cup of coffee and read the paper for maybe 10 minutes and said well that is enough wasting time. He is gone again -- after all he did sleep in until 5 a.m. ! That is how he has started a
" day off " -- He is looking forward to a fun day of changing the tractor tire ( no idea how that got flat but we have been hauling round bales ) and fixing the fences that the raging creeks have taken out. He said how great it is to have time off and he is busily doing what he calls relaxing -- now does he need practice relaxing or
what ?

I should add that the game in the Arcade that is like Picross is called Nanogram. I must say this post
looked better when I wrote it, I am going to have to make sure I have shorter lines of type from
now on. I am now about to try a new game called Makos -- Jonah seems to like it a lot.

I do want to wish everyone a happy and SAFE 4th of July ! We are going to a big cook out if we don't get rained out :( The fireworks will be more fun this year -- for once we do not have a burn ban.

We were going to have a cookout, frisbee, and go see the firework show and while the first two happened, the rain came in and the fireworks were cancelled shortly after we arrived. It was a very good day though.
