Just sort of a random note. You know what's kind of funny? We're studying Australia in Geography this chapter. I thought of you. And I got to thinking, I can't remember what city you live in. And I was wondering. have you ever been to Tasmania or New Zealand? Didn't you mention going to New Zealand once? I seem to remember something about that. A skiing trip. Or maybe that was someone else. I don't know.
I do remembering talking to you about Anime once. You read Fruits Basket right? Or know of it?

I went to New Zealand twice when I was a senior for high school. The orchestra I was captain of was invited to perform at a festival in April, then I went back in August to go skiing on a school trip. That was in 2005, and I keep meaning to go back.
As for Tasmania, I am the only one in my family not to have been. My sister and brother went last year with the orchestra, but I didn't get my act together early enough to go with them as a graduate.
I live near Brisbane JJ. Brisbane is above Sydney on the map, in Queensland (actually, it the capital). I live about 50 Kms south, halfway to the Gold Coast (where I went today).
It is very nice here. The whether is very mild (it gets just a little hot in the middle of summer - around 100F on a HOT day), but it doesn't rain all that much. Brisbane and the Gold Coast constantly on water restrictions (though at my house we have our own tank, and are not connected to mains water or sewerage).
As for Anime, I watch a bit, and read some manga. Melissa (my younger sister who I must get top post here - she has more in common with you guys than me!) loves Fruits Basket, and I've been buying the books for her slowly.

Very nice post, I do remember those days well.
I do hope that Mel will join us but I think we all have a great deal in common.
JJ had quite and interesting trip to China while you were away from Lilbro Kara, JJ your turn to catch Kara up.
Please extend a warm invitation to Mel, I feel I know her anyway.
I think you are a very nice big sister Kara.

Did you get my pictures? I hope they weren't of too bad of a quality, as I had to compress them a little to I could send them to you. If you want more, I took about 100 photos in maybe half an hour.

I always want more pictures, I think that you and Ben are very special and have a wonderful future together.
The Gold Coast looks as beautiful as I had imagined, thank you Kara, it is very kind of you to share the beauty of Australia and the grand adventures that you and Ben have.
Ben does look different from the prom pictures but I think he is improving with age !

I don't think the pictures did the Gold Coast justice. They do not capture the many beautiful different shades of blue and green the ocean in, nor does it quite show how white and warm the sand is.
I feel very lucky to be so close to something as beautiful as the Gold Coast. It just fills me with awe when I realize how many beautiful things God has made just for us.
